Girl Time
On June 30th I wrote this post and while I was rereading it this line caught my eye; “That God would continue to bring a team of women around me to encourage and pray for me.” Some of you that know me personally, and also through this blog, know that it has been a rough couple of years for me. I moved to the North side of Nashville. We left our church that was home to us for 5 years and all my friends. Although we were 40 minutes away, I knew it could never be the same as a knock on the door from one of my girlfriends who “happened to be driving by” kind of visits. Well, I can now say we have found a great church and I have a great group of friends. A team of women that God has brought into my life. Something that I have prayed and longed for these last 2 years. I know you know how important “girl time” is. We need this time to unwind, laugh, celebrate and pray with our girlfriends. If you are struggling with friendships or searching for them, start to ask God for them. That He will send you those friends, those relationships that He wants for your life.
When I do look back at those 2 years, I see God in it all. He knew I didn’t have time for friendships. I was so focused on saving our business. So focused on the finances and yet trying to keep a “happy” home for our kids. What I realize now is that I needed all my focus on Him. My prayer time with Him, my crying with Him and my laughing with Him. He is and will always be my best friend.
Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”
