It's Impossible for God to Lie

This morning I awoke to a desire to read out of Hebrews.  I stopped at Chapter 6 and was reminded of these verses: Hebrews 6:17-18: Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised; he confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.

It was a gentle reminder of two unchangeable things, His nature and His promises.

The nature of His purpose will never change.  God has a purpose and in that purpose we find Him.  Something that will never change, never compromise, never waiver.

You have such a purpose.

Oh, but, then there are His promises.

Promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Promises that what the enemy meant for evil God will turn it for His good.

So many promises to list.

I love what it says in verse 18, “by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie.”

Hold true to His future for you and His promises He has given.

Knowing them not just on paper but in your heart is where the "hope set before us may be greatly encouraged."

Until next time.
