A Beautiful Rain - Devotions

rainAs I am looking out my bedroom window, I see trees with rain drops on them.  I see puddles of water out on the lawn and in the distant street.  I remember as a kid, I would love jumping in those rain puddles.  Seeing how high I can get the water to go up or how far out it would hit my sister. I was such the trouble-maker. It seems the rainy forecast has kept our family inside for today.

Rain reminds me of dry places needing a refreshing drink of water.  It reminds me of the necessity of rain when we are waiting for things to grow.  Rain reminds me of washing away the old so that it can become brand new again.

Rain.

What do you need “Rain” for?

Is it a need of the floodgates of heaven opening and letting it rain on you or maybe you just need a cool drink of His Word to refresh those dry areas in your life.

Whatever need you may have or strength to continue anew, know that He is right there with you.

Psalm 72:6 - May he be like rain that falls on the mown grass, like showers that water the earth!

Let Him refresh you. Let Him make you new.

Washing away the dirt, the ugliness of our lives.

Knowing that where we were is not where we are.

1 John 4:17 - And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the Day of Judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.
