Make a Difference in Your Work

Life's enjoymentDo you know you can make a difference in the world even if you work full time?

I was reminded of this last week at work.

I was talking with a member of ours at the Country Club that I work at and she was talking about her son graduating and leaving for college.  She was nervous and excited. Unsure if she did this parenting thing right, “but I guess we will find out”.  She then asked me to pray for her and that God would show her that they will be ok.  I have never talked to her about God or told her I was a Christian or went to church.  I’m thankful for God’s countenance on me.

Then, I had an employee talk with me about dating and marriage.  A young Christian man that wants to settle down and get married but wants to do it “right” and make it stick.  We talked about what he was looking for and what reality is.  I was honored to hear him talk about mine and Jose’s marriage and how he wants something like ours that is happy, fun and “has Jesus as the center”.

One more gentle reminder.

Then on Friday I had a meeting with a woman that is planning a large event at the club.  We talked details, food and vendors.  When we finished and got up to leave, she said, “Michelle, I have to tell you something”.  “What?”, I said.  “Tammy and I were doing a search on you and found your website.  What an inspiration you are. We are now subscribers to your blog and look forward to reading more and getting inspired in what you say.”

These are what I call AWE-God moments!

You may go to work all day, thinking what am I doing for the kingdom? What difference am I making sitting here at a desk? I am here to tell you…YOU do make a difference.

Whether you work from home, work out of the house, a stay-at-home mom, single or married, you can make the difference in someone else’s life.  God will make the connections.  He will connect the dots to those we encounter.  Creating those AWE-God moments.

2 Corinthians 8:21:  Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

Mathew 5:16:   Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
