What Caught My Eye This Week - July #3

Blog Posts

Love this reminder from Mary Demuth this week. She gives us a heart check when it comes to pride. I wrote in my journal a long time ago that my biggest fear is that I become more than what God has for me. I reflect on those words in my decisions.

I have watched Lisa Whittle from the time she wrote The 7 Hardest Things God Asks A Woman To Do to her most recent project coming out, I Want God. To see her humility and her posture for God, it is no wonder she is a force to be reckoned with.

My daughter seemed to spike a conversation this week about Teenagers and YouTube. It’s what happens next that peaked my interest in doing this research.

Video and Podcast

IF:Equip, part of the IF:Gathering, has been doing an incredible job taking readers through the books of ACTS this week. Bringing on great insight and challenging us in the Word. Watch this video with my friend Lindsey Nobles and Rebekah Lyons as they discuss Paul’s goodbye and what leaving well looks like.

I’m really excited about teaching from Jennie Allen’s book Restless beginning in September. I believe so many women need to hear this message as only Jennie can deliver it. Join us on Tuesday nights in Nashville.

Social Media

This week the Proverbs 31 She Speaks Conference will take place. If you are like me and just couldn’t fit it in this year’s schedule, then join me in following their tweets using the hashtag #P31SheSpeaks. It’ll almost be like we are there.

Food

You know my love for all things pie! So this week, by request from our oldest, let’s make a lemon meringue pie. I am going to use this recipe with a little of my own tweaks. Post a photo of your finished pie on Instagram with the hashtag #summerpies.
